What is a temple? - Temples are religious sites where people gather to pray to god.
Purpose
- Large temples where built in the history to house the God and the King in a fortress built with solid rocks. Temples were built strong enough to withstand severe earthqukes, floods and cyclones. In an event of war, temples were considered a no-war zone to provide shelter to the people.
- Temples primary purpose was to provide a peaceful/quiet sense of mind to the people away from the noises of the cities.
